We strive for removal of inequalities and injustice in human society to live with dignity and to co-exist in harmony. Keeping the above in mind, we at Sankalp has always focussed on the vision. It was challenging to work with the communities and govt. officials during the covid pandemic. However, with the support of the entire team the process of implementation was eased out.

About us.

Established in 1992, Sankalp is a not for profit organisation focusing on empowerment and socio-economic development of the underprivileged communities in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra.

Our main focus has been women, children, youth and small and marginal farmers spread across Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad and Latur District regions of Maharashtra.

Our team has always worked towards providing education and protection to youth and women of the underprivileged communities and have tried to benefit them with the all the Governmental facilities. Skill development programmes, providing protection kits, conducting awareness campaigns, etc have always been on the priority list for Sankalp.

Our Areas of work

We try and enhance the under privileged community of women and children by providing them

Education

  • Identification of school dropouts and children out of school to sustain them in the mainstream of education.
  • Stop migrant Children and enrollment in school through seasonal hostels.
  • Sensitization of School management Committees, Parents, teachers on proper implementation of Right to Education Act.

Health

  • Capacity Building and behavior change of Community regarding Health and Nutrition.
  • Community Awareness in NHM and provide various health services to children and women through various activities and program.
  • Capacity building and co-ordination with Government Heath functionaries to reach out to the needy women and children.

Migration

  • Identification of potential migrant families before migration every year through survey.
  • Advocacy to get migration certificate from local governance authorities.
  • Efforts to stop migrating children and continue them in the school.

Livelihood

  • Basic skill training program for semi-literate, school dropouts and child labor in Mumbai like retail management, basic computer education, English speaking and personality development.
  • Placements for Trained youth in various government and private institutions.
